M/V AMARSE VOYAGE 07Updated at of 12/21/07Howdy Friends and Family. The cruising plans for AMARSE and crew are not set in stone. We prefer to plan in a generalized manner and modify our overall plans as we go. This gives us unlimited opportunities to maximize our enjoyment and to experience a wider range of adventures. Our general plan overview had us departing Mobile, Alabama in mid January, 2007.Our planned routing will be east along the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway into the panhandle of Florida. From Carrabelle, FL, we crossed directly across the Gulf of Mexico to Tarpon Springs, FL. We enjoyed that lovely city for two weeks. Five days at Caladesi State Park and then another week in Madeira Beach, Florida rounded out a month or so.Southward routing followed the west coast of Florida. We had hoped to visit the Florida Keys and then make the Gulfstream crossing of the Atlantic to the Bahamas Islands, however, we actually adjusted our plan to cross Florida via the Okeechobee WaterWay and head directly to the Abacos Islands, Bahamas from Stuart, FL. We had a slip at Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour at Marsh Harbour. It is a place we hope to return to as soon as possible in the late fall. We returned to the US east coast of Florida by mid April. We completed our spring maintenance near Stuart, Florida and cruised on the St. John's River in northern Florida.AMARSE continuing up the east coast, departing the State of Florida before June 1st, 2007. We are presently docked at Brunswick Landing Marina in southern Georgia. In August, we traveled by road to see two spacecraft being launched. The first was a Delta rocket headed for Mars. The second was the STS-118 Space Shuttle Mission. (See the trip logs for details)Recently, we completed our Alaskan Adventure aboard a couple of cruise ship trips. It is something we had wanted to do for many years. We took the time to live the dream. We flew to Vancouver, BC, and cruised to Alaska and return. Labor Day weekend in Vancouver and Victoria, BC was delightful and quite cool.Dean Ordiway, Judy's brother, visited us in Georgia around the middle of September.Judy travel by airline to Texas to spend some time with her grandchildren while the parents toddled off to Hawaii. I stayed in Brunswick another week before driving to Texas. I had an overnight stop in Gautier, Mississippi with friend Jimmy Ethridge before arriving at Lufkin, TX.We drove to our house in San Antonio for some doctor visits and to check on the house. Just to be sure, I had them check out my heart completely. The tests and cathetorization revealed no abnormalities of my cardio-vascular system. That was very good news .The Bahamas beckoning us to return. AMARSE had a great crossing of the Gulfstream and we are at Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour for the winter. We are delighted to be here again this year. We hope to be here until early April before returning to the US mainland. For now, the rest of our plans are still uncertain.Stay tuned and return here often to learn of the ever changing plans. Wish us well as we seek new routes to adventure.
