NEWS 2010FLASH!!! 03/28/10 AMARSE IS BACK in the USA!!! After a good Gulfstream crossing, we are now docked in Stuart, Florida at the Sunset Bay Marina. On a pleasant Wednesday morning (3/24), we set out at 6am for the 12 hour voyage from Port Lucaya, Grand Bahama Island to the St. Lucie Inlet and the Manatee Pocket anchorage. Our stay at the Grand Bahama Yacht Club was very enjoyable. We will stay here in Florida for a while to enjoy the lovely city and friends. What's next? Who knows?
FLASH!!! 03/21/10 AMARSE is still in the Bahamas as of this date. We left Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour Marina on Friday morning, March 19th. Although a bit windy, we had a relatively comfortable trip through the Sea of Abaco, Don't Rock Passage, and out to the Bahama Bank. After anchoring overnight in Great Sale Cay, we left at daybreak to continue toward Dover Sound and the Lucayan Canal. The seas today were nearly flat calm. We transited the canal and headed west in the Atlantic Ocean stretch toward Bell Channel. With increasingly brisk SSE winds, the ocean was a bit more rolling. By 4pm, we were tied up at the Grand Bahama Yacht Club facility at Port Lucaya. We will stay here for several days waiting for a suitable crossing window back to the Florida coast. Quite a few boats from the RMHYC are already here and more are expected. It will be like a mini-rendezvous again. Stay in touch for more updates as I have time to publish them.
FLASH!!! 01/01/10 AMARSE is in the Bahamas for the winter months until April, 2010. I have decided to attempt keeping the website more current by publishing the contemporary events of 2010 before completing all of 2009. This will allow me to gradually catch up on the backlog while still posting the present day events in a more timely fashion. Please let me know if you think this is a good idea or not. I will endeavor to keep the remaining updates for 2009 coming as soon as time permits. Thanks for your patience.
We are still trying to decide what our plans will be for the summer months. If you have any great suggestions, please let us know. If you have been enjoying these update editions, please drop us an email letting us know. Thanks and Lots of Love, Fred and Judy
If you have any suggestions, please let us know. STAY TUNED FOR UPCOMING CHANGES TO OUR PLANS FOR THE SEASONS AHEAD. AS USUAL, THE CREW OF AMARSE IS FLEXIBLE AND APT TO CHANGE OUR MINDS AT A MOMENTS NOTICE. |
